This is allowing CO2 levels in our atmosphere to increase significantly and have an impact on the temperature of our precious earth. With Australia generating 1.5% of emissions it is ranked the third highest contributor of greenhouse gasses in the developed world. Moving out of an ice age temperatures raised a total of 4 to 7 degrees Celsius over 5,000 years. In the past century alone, the temperature has climbed 0.7 degrees Celsius, roughly ten times faster than the average rate of ice-age-recovery warming. Models predict that Earth will warm between 2 and 6 degrees Celsius in the next century. This means that while in the past it has taken the planet 5,000 years to warm 5 degrees.
